Iraq: Muqtada al-Sadr’s “Big Game”

Both, the West and the White House understand that without a full-scale war Iran will not be driven out of Syria, but they will hardly dare to start that war, even with the support of Saudi Arabia and Israel. Losses can outweigh the price of a victory. Therefore, the United States counted on Muqtada al-Sadr's victory in the elections and his anti-Iranian rhetoric. It seems that they will lose, because they did not take into consideration the factor of the Shiite unity. There are also US-controlled Kurds, which may also influence further development of the situation.

Thus, the political situation in Iraq may change dramatically in the near future, and the Shia majority in the Parliament will form a new government for Iraq.
