President of the Republic of China Ms. Tsai Ing-wen's phone call to US President Donald Trump on the 2nd December 2016 with congratulations on his election to this post determined the new development of events in the Asia-Pacific region. Thus, the United States made it clear that Taiwan was becoming an active player in geopolitical game.

From the very beginning of its moving to the island of Taiwan, in 1949, the government of Homindan had to create a solid economic and military foothold to resist Communist China. For a long time, Taiwan has drifted in the wake of the United States, but after Tsai Ing-wen came to power in 2016, Taiwan began to diversify its political and economic strategies.

In the next few years, many interesting events can happen associated with this unique country. Unique, among other things, due because despite its the highest ratings on economic and political freedoms, the major political players of the G7 do not dare to recognize Taiwan as a political entity.
