The Ukrainian Armed Forces' Trainings: Should Kyiv Fall for Moscow's Blackmail

International law is unequivocally on the side of Ukraine. But there is also the right of force, to which Russia is used to resort. What should we do?

The Kremlin is threatening to respond firmly to Kyiv's trainings over the Black Sea on the 1st–2nd of December 2016, — “Dzerkalo Tyzhnya” is reporting, citing sources in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. In particular, the unnamed source states that if Ukraine conducts such missile tests, the Russian side, firstly, will shoot down Ukrainian missiles and, secondly, will strike back at Ukrainian launchers.

Besides, last Friday, November 25, the Russian Federation's Ministry of Defence handed the Ukrainian military attache a note of protest in connection with the plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to conduct missile tests near the Crimea.

And today, November 30, it has become known that Russia has deployed its S300-VM Air Defense Missile System in the Crimea.

In this context, Ukrinform has asked military experts:

— How dangerous is this, and how should Kyiv respond to such threats?

— Should Ukraine give up the trainings altogether?

Among the surveyed experts, the Agency's reporter Myroslav Liskovych's above mentioned questions were answered also by Vice President of the Independent Analytical Centre for Geopolitical Studies “Borysfen Intel”, Candidate of Military Sciences, Associate Professor, Lieutenant-General Yuriy Radkovets, expressing his point of view on this issue, which is completely the same as the assessment of the military expert community of Ukraine.

In the evening of November 30, 2016, actually the same thing was said in the statement of the NSDC of Ukraine.
