The Political and Economic Situation in October 2018
October 2018 was extremely rich in events in Latin America, the most prominent of which was the election of the President of Brazil. The victory of an odious ultra-right radical has caused ambiguous responses, and the media are full of information about the new “Latin American Trump”. The newly elected President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, was congratulated by the leaders of the United States, Russia, Colombia and most Latin American countries. The flow of the column of migrants, by the organized procession is approaching the borders of the United States. The situation in Venezuela, where human rights are violated, and the economic situation does not improve, is also alarming. So, there are important changes in the region, which will necessarily have consequences that will be felt in many countries, and not only in Latin America.
