The USA's recent steps have shown that it has a new strategy in the Syrian issue, which has greatly reduced the opportunities for Russia and Iran's maneuvering.
Moscow, which once again got into an impasse and which demanded a meeting of the UN Security Council, from the very beginning understood that the decision of the Council would not be in favor of Russia and Iran, but would let it “jump off from the hot theme” of Idlib and, as the RF thinks, save its blushes in a bad game.
Within the next three or four months, we will witness new formats for resolving the Syrian war, but hardly with Moscow and Tehran in them. Moreover, changes in Syria will, of course, also lead to certain changes throughout the region of the Middle East.
