The next 2019 year in Ukraine will be important politically — presidential and parliamentary elections will take place with only a short interval between them.
As of the beginning of November 2018, it's safe to say that two campaigns have already started. In fact, it is a struggle for controlling all the branches of government in the country, because the winner of the presidential election gets a key advantage in parliamentary elections and in the formation of the government.
These elections will determine the country's geopolitical course for the nearest years, which gives grounds to suggest that world players will be actively involved in the election campaign in Ukraine.
The main struggle today has begun between the group of Petro Poroshenko and the group of Yulia Tymoshenko. Other groups are struggling for a parliamentary “golden card”, using the presidential campaign to “spin off” their candidates and political forces.
With stakes so high, we can expect an aggravation of the political situation in the country already in November–December 2018, the reason for which may be either a resonant event, or the government's actions.
