Appeal of Valery Ivashchenko, former Acting Minister of Defence of Ukraine, and now - a political refugee.

All citizens of Ukraine who are not indifferent to its and their own fate, including politicians (not least - politicians!) should very well, forever, remember this day.
And not only - for the greatness of the today's event, and not only - in order in the future to celebrate and praise the heroism of those who sacrificed themselves for all of us.
REMEMBER! Today was practically realized the right of the people to revolt - against the anti-people government, in whatever way it had been elected.
Over the last few days there have been a lot of – up to the tantrums! - spells that legitimate, democratically elected government way should be changed in the same way. That is – wait until 2015!
Sadly, but on this emphasized not only the “supporters” of Yanukovych from Russkiy Mir (Russian World), but “carriers of true democratic values”- some European politicians. And all this - despite the fact that such a right - the right to revolt – is guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948!
I appeal to all my brothers and sisters Ukrainians:
No less important than the victory itself is to secure its results, and values obtained thanks to it.
We need to have (not from the government, because we ourselves are now the power!) this right of the people to revolt, to overthrow the government to be written in the text of the Constitution of Ukraine.
And not in such a “veiled” formulation, as in the UN Declaration (almost hidden, “scattered” in its preamble), but the way it is written in the Declaration of Independence of the USA of 1776:
“... When a long series of abuse and violence, always subordinated to a single goal, evidence of the insidious plan to force the people to accept the unlimited tyranny, to overthrow a government and to create new guarantees of security for the future becomes the right and duty of the people”.
I am ready to being accused of “kowtowing to the West”, but I do insist: no need to “reinvent the wheel” – you can't express and formulate this right better!
And now – why to do it.
For any Ukrainian government (the present and tomorrow's ones, and any other in the future) to always be very well aware and remember:
There cannot be any unquestioning “indulgence” called LEGITIMACY OF THE GOVERNMENT in case this government betrays its people, in case it violates the principles of recognition and respect as the highest values - life, health, honor and dignity of a human being.
We have to do it - and then it will indicate that we want and are able to learn lessons. And that we want our children and grandchildren not to go through all this in the future.
And, sure - a crucially important.
About the euphoria after the victory.
Perhaps it is the second greatest danger after overcoming resistance of criminal gangs.
So, point one.
I hate remembering, but still can't help remembering the “classical” historical thesis about who creates revolutions, and who then uses their results, fruits.
Do not let this “thesis” come true in today's new Ukraine, because then it will not be THE NEW ONE.
Cleanup is vitally needed!
Celebrating, you should not allow to creep out like cockroaches “Chevaliers for multiple loyalty” - those who for the sake of their own skin's safety or enrichment, have repeatedly mimicried, with incredible ease “painting” themselves into different political colors.
We can already see many of them “on the surface”.
Some are ALREADY “opposition” (Bohoslovska, Zhvania, Rudkovskiy). And how many others are “standing in line!”
Especially – those who the day before yesterday “received his/her sight” and left the immutable PR. Haven't they registered their applications to join the United Opposition?
“Incalculable” are those who have recently been in “Yulia Tymoshenko's Block”, “Batkivshchyna”, who was considered Yulya's ally, not to mention the memorable “Our Ukraine” (there are a lot of them already, hard to count: http://nbnews. com.ua/ru/tema/113799 /.)
But among them should be named once especially “faithful” and “trusted” ones: V.Bondar, S.Buryak, T.Vasadze, Ye.Sihal, A.Yatsenko, M.Bahrayev, A.Kinakh, and O.Bilovol, etc, etc, etc...
These – are the first back into the opposition! (even more United).
I'm afraid we may also see the triumphant return to Ukraine of the “victim of the regime” Horoshkovsky or - “declassification" of the true, earlier “hidden opposition” activity of Lyovochkin and his ilk (“had been causing the best they could” Yanukovych's fall).
And the second thing.
Apart from euphoria - generosity of the winners.
It's good, Christian, even when it comes to the defeated enemy.
But not in case when it regards to cynical cold-blooded criminals! For them - only punishment, fair punishment!
Every civilized, educated person understands that REVENGE - is not good, it will eventually burn the one who takes a revenge. But there is something else – PAYING BACK. And it should be! (This is the case when better to expresses it in Russian: “REVENGE” and “PAYING BACK” - is not just a “play on words”.)
So criminals who had built this gangster regime, who had been serving it with ardency, who had been killing people with his own hands or with laborers' hands - have to be punished. Because not all can be forgiven, even in spite of the peaks of Christian values.
Yanukovych, in agony, called Ukrainians fascists, who did not want to be turned into mute, obedient slaves. His “definition” had a wrong address; it must be returned to Yanukovych and his gang.
And therefore appropriate will be Julius Fucik's cherished words, “PEOPLE, BE VIGILANT!”
UKRAINIAN PEOPLE, BE VIGILANT!
Never allow any power, regardless of names and surnames it uses in the future, to do this again!

Brief Biography
Valeriy Ivashchenko was born July 30, 1956 in Zaporizhzhya. In 1978 he graduated from Mozhayskyi Military Engineering Academy. His service as an officer began at the cosmodrome “Baikonur”.
From October 2007 to June 2009 he had been Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine. After the dismissal of Yuriy Yekhanurov, by the order of the Government of Ukraine № 604-r dated 5 June 2009, V.Ivashchenko was appointed First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine and till March 2010, served as Acting Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
August 21, 2010 Valery Ivashchenko was detained by the Military Prosecutor. He was accused of illegally deciding on Sale of Assets of Feodosia ship and mechanical plant. August 24, he was arrested. In June 2011, Valery Ivashchenko announced a permanent hunger strike in protest against the bias of the panel of judges, but soon stopped the hunger strike due to the condition of his health. Ivashchenko's Lawyers filed a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights in relation to violations during the pre-trial and trial investigation. In an interview with “Kommersant” Ivashchenko said he had no relation to the sale of the property of the Feodosia ship-mechanical plant.
April 12, 2012 Valeriy Ivashchenko was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment. Ivashchenko said that his case was fabricated by the former Deputy Prosecutor General Vitaliy Shchetkin. The sentence was criticized by the Helsinki Committee, the U.S.A. and the EU.
August 14, 2012 the Court of Appeal changed Ivashchenko's sentence to a suspended one and released him from custody in the courtroom. In January 2013 he got political asylum in Danmark.
