June 6, 2018 in London, the Institute for Economics and Peace published another, already 12th annual report on the state of peace in the world (Global Peace Index 2018). Ukraine is ranked 152nd out of 163 countries.
Obviously, the main parameters of the study of the Institute for Economics and Peace are influenced by those factors that are vulnerable to today's Ukraine. It is important for us to realize that our state is somewhere at the very bottom of the global ranking of GPI, and the reasons for which our country got there and has constantly been there.
A change for better in the situation in Ukraine is possible and necessary. Global ratings will come automatically, after the state of affairs in our country has changed and a desire to build it has come. There are no political elites and leaders, therefore, they must obviously emerge from the civil society, based on the competition of regional business elites, successful entrepreneurs and investors.
The Global Peace Index for Ukraine should be spread and brought to the attention of the general public, its main parameters and components should be advertised as guides to building a European Ukraine, they should be integrated into regional development programs and the national strategy for the development of the state in the future.
