The beginning of October 2018 was marked by another diplomatic scandal involving Iran, which could shake the unity of the signatories of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action for its nuclear program.
October 2, 2018, France froze the accounts of two Iranian diplomats and assets of the Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which, together with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, is responsible for intelligence. “In taking this decision, France reiterates its determination to fight terrorism in all its manifestations, especially on its own territory”, France's interior, foreign and economy ministries said in a joint statement.
