16.11.2018. A meeting of the US-Ukraine Strategic Partnership Commission took place in Washington

During the visit of Foreign Minister of Ukraine P. Klimkin to the USA, a meeting of the US-Ukraine Strategic Partnership Commission took place. According to the results, both countries agreed to create three working groups that would deal with security and countering of Russian aggression; rule of law and humanitarian issues; as well as economy and energy.

The commission is headed by the US Secretary of State and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The initiator of the commission is the Ukrainian side, so it can be presented in Ukraine as President P. Poroshenko's next victory in the international arena. Although the commission does not create anything fundamentally new, regular meetings at the level of performers, and not politicians, will make bilateral relations less dependent on the political situation, which is important in the context of the start of the election campaign in Ukraine.
